Just an awful movie. This is an attempt at the deranged, disfigured killer family genre–similar to TEXAS CHAINSAW, THE HILLS HAVE EYES, WRONG TURN, etc. Except this one is not disturbing, suspenseful, scary, or anything else that makes the genre interesting. And I’m a huge low-budget horror fan. But the vapid, asinine dialogue in this movie is an offense even to low-budget horror. Imagine writing a script that contains a 5-minute discourse on the lead character’s tan. That’s what you have in LAKE DEAD. The only good part is a nice little scene where you get to see boobs for a few minutes but in all honesty, Do yourself a favor and pass.
