Werewold Shadow 1970
I’ve decided to take a chance on this film. Ironically, I was persuaded by the negative customer review which compared the werewolf in this film to Lon Chaney’s in The Wolf Man, which happens to be the greatest werewolf movie ever made (although Curse of the Werewolf comes close). The werewolf mythology undoubtedly became LESS, not more, interesting once they were portrayed as four-legged beasts; this development was less a result of re-envisioning the werewolf than it was an attempt to put state-of-the-art special effects onto the screen at the expense of theme and pathos. If this movie resembles The Wolf Man, that can only be a good thing.
